One of the most stressful parts of hiring a lawyer is paying legal fees. To help alleviate that stress, our staff is willing and able to talk honestly with you about legal fees at any point during your search for a lawyer and for the duration of your case. All clients receive itemized invoices at least once per calendar month which breaks down exactly where their legal fees are going.
On-demand coaching and non-contested cases are billed at a flat fee. That fee generally includes routine court costs like filing fees, service, and publication, if applicable. Flat fees are due in full at the start of your case.
Contested cases are billed on a monthly subscription. This allows you to work legal fees directly into your budget. Subscriptions require that monthly fees be automatically charged to a credit or debit card.
Many lawyers and law firms bill on an hourly rate with a retainer. While this option may be available on a case-by-case basis, we truly believe that flat fees and subscriptions allow you to get better service for less money out-of-pocket.
Forms of Payment
We accept payments in the form of cash, e-check/ACH transfer, certified check/money order, or credit/debit card. Payments can be made easily at our office or online through a client portal. You can use any combination of payment methods that works best for you. With your permission, third parties may also contact us to make payments on your behalf without receiving any information about your case.
Legal Insurance Networks & Employer Assistance Programs (EAPs)
Some employers provide legal insurance benefits to help cover the cost of legal fees. If your employer does not provide this benefit, then some of these coverage options are available for direct purchase by consumers. The Lien Law Firm is in-network with the following benefit plans:
